Eiffel Scholarship

Eiffel scholarship in France for international students is a government scholarship program developed by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Hence, the scholarship was designed to assist prospective international masters or Ph.D. students who wish to study in a France higher institution. It offers a chance to the long-run foreign decision-makers of the personal and public sectors, in priority areas of study, and encourages candidates from developing countries at the master’s level, and from developing and industrial countries at a Ph.D. level.

The winners of the Eiffel scholarship program are entitled to myriads of benefits from the government.

Benefits of the Eiffel Scholarship Program:

The Eiffel scholarship program is targetted at intending master’s and Ph.D. level students. Thus, the benefits of winners from the levels are in differences;

Master’s level Benefits:

For winners in the master level, a maintenance allowance of €1,031 and a monthly stipend of €150 is given to each winner. Therefore amounting to  €1,181 monthly allowance. Apart from the monthly allowance given to winners during the duration of their studies, other expenses are covered for them. Such expenses are;

  • The transportation fee for winners from the country of origin to France is covered during the scholarship program.
  • The scholarship also covers a national transport fare of the scholar. In other words, a train ticket for going to the study location on arrival and a return ticket to the airport after scholars study is also provided.
  • In certain conditions, winners are also eligible to receive a housing allowance.
  • Scholars are also going to be given a reimbursement of up to €50 for local or public transport.
  • Health insurance is also provided for the master level winners of the Eiffel scholarship program.
Ph.D. level Benefits:

The only benefit of which the Ph.D. level get contrary to the master level scholars is in the monthly allowance. A monthly allowance worth €1,400 is awarded to winners of the Ph.D. level. With also;

  • The transportation fee for winners from the country of origin to France is covered during the scholarship program.
  • The scholarship also covers a national transport fare of the scholar. In other words, a train ticket for going to the study location on arrival and a return ticket to the airport after scholars study is also provided.
  • In certain conditions, winners are also eligible to receive a housing allowance.
  • Scholars are also going to be given a reimbursement of up to €50 for local or public transport.
  • Health insurance is also provided.

Eligible Countries:

Only international students are eligible to apply for the Eiffel scholarship program. Thus, students of dual nationality are not also eligible for this program. The scholarship is purely meant for non-French nationals

Eligibility Criteria:

  • To apply for the Eiffel scholarship at the master level, you must not be older than 30 years for the given year of the scholarship application. While for the Ph.D. application, you must not be older than 35 years.
  • Students who are already beneficiaries of other scholarship programs are not eligible to apply.
  • Intending applicants must have enrolled in one of French higher institutions. Thus, the pre-selection for the scholarship application starts from the applicants enrolled in higher institutions.
  • Students who were beneficiaries of the Eiffel Master scholarship are eligible to apply for the Ph.D. scholarship program.
  • Intending applicants must ensure their language skill meets the required standard. Thus, during the preselection of the non-French-speaking applicants. The higher institution must make sure that their language skills meet the requirements of the relevant course of study.

Pre-selection Process:

The pre-selection process for candidates that will apply for the scholarship starts from the higher institution. The French higher institution nominates from the list of international students who enrolled in their school. A maximum of 40 students is usually nominated per field of study for masters programs. Hence, the application submission of the Eiffel scholarship program is being submitted by the institution. Hence, while submitting the application on behalf of the students, students must ensure see the process is run smoothly. Thus, the following things are ensured to be done;

  • Ensure that the total duration of their academic program is clearly stated. Including the compulsory internship program duration.
  • Ensure that their application is presented in two separate files. The first containing the application files while the other containing all necessary attachments for the scholarship application.
  • All candidate applications must bear stamp from the institutions.
